Deleting your Account

We're sad to see you go, but we understand that sometimes it's necessary to part ways. If you've decided to bid fadewell to Revolt, follow the steps below to delete your account.

Web/Desktop

1. Navigate to Settings:

   • Click on the settings icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

2. Access Account Settings:

   • In the Settings menu, find and click on "My Account" in the left-hand sidebar, if it's not already selected.

3. Delete Your Account:

   • Scroll down until you see the option to "Mark Account for Deletion."
   • Click the item and confirm your decision.
   • If you have two-factor authentication enabled, you'll need to enter your code or use one of your recovery codes to proceed.

Remember, if you change your mind within 7 days, you can still recover your account by contacting our support team. After that, your data will be gone for good.

Android

1. Access Settings:

   • Open the navigation drawer by tapping the three lines in the top-left corner of the screen.
   • Long tap your profile picture in the top-left corner of the navigation drawer.
   • Tap "Settings" in the menu that appears.
   • If you use a screen reader, you can also access Settings by touch-exploring the ultimate item of the hard left sidebar in the navigation drawer and double-tapping it.

2. Access Account Settings:

   • Scroll down to find the "Account" section. If it is already on the screen, skip to the next step.
   • Tap the "Account" section to expand it.

3. Delete Your Account:

   • Scroll down until you find the option to "Mark Account for Deletion."
   • Tap the item and confirm your decision.
   • If you have two-factor authentication enabled, you'll need to enter your code or use one of your recovery codes to proceed.

Remember, if you change your mind within 7 days, you can still recover your account by contacting our support team. After that, your data will be gone for good.

Farewell, but Keep in Mind

As a heads up, any ongoing chats or shared content will be lost, so make sure to save anything important before bidding farewell. If you're a server owner, you'll need to transfer ownership to another member or delete the server before you can delete your account.

Deleting your account is irreversible, so ensure it's what you truly want. If you change your mind within 7 days, you can still recover your account by contacting our support team. After that, your data will be gone for good.
